In the last issue Julie from the UK posted a question with some valid criticism [see her question in the questions section below]. This prompted me into writing an eBook on "How To Start A Home Business Online"

Well I actually managed to get it finished in time for this issue!

Within "How To Start A Home Business Online" I have given all the information on the tools and methods I used to get a web presence. With links to all the free online tutorials you'll ever need to build your own website and optimize it as a commercial asset, on a shoestring budget.

I know all this information is out there on the cyberspace highway but it has taken years to sort the wheat from the chaff. A great deal of the information that daily, solicits our inbox by Guru X, Y and Z is grossly outdated. For instance you will get a 1000 + word sales letter expounding the virtues of the latest and best automatic this or that gizmo to promote your site. Many of these gizmo's are outdated methods that will do you more harm than good. Therefore I will keep updating this eBook on a regular basis.

To purchase a copy of "How To Start A Home Business online" for $25

Readers please don't be shy with coming forward with your own Ideas for me to post in this Newsletter. Also I was hoping there would be a lot of questions posted so that any readers with good ideas could answer these questions. Please if you have any good ideas or questions you want answered post them at  the COMMENTS page or EMAIL me.

Group Mailer - Free Trial Available

I made the offer to some of my team members to send out their emails to the opt in lists that they purchased, via my group mailer. I can not continue to do this due to time constraints. Therefore I have sourced a group mailer with a free trial that you can use yourselves. You will find the download at the For Sale page

IMPORTANT

Due to the size of this newsletter delivery is getting intercepted by spam and bulk folders. Therefore from now on I am posting the Newsletter on the website instead of sending it by e-mail. This will also make the Any Ideas Newsletter available to the general public. This is not a bad situation. However originally this newsletter was intended for subscribers and members of the NOLB team only, so that special limited offers would be made available to my subscribers only. I source the free tools mainly from  developers who will give a limited amount of free downloads of their products for promotional purposes. To Download these limited downloads you will need your Subscribers ID number. If you do not have a subscribers ID number please go to Free Tools and subscribe to the newsletter. you will then be sent an email with your ID number.

EVIOUS EDITIONS Questions and Answers

Q.I came to your site for information on "How to start a home business online". I want to start my own business promoting my own product [aged Care product to prevent bed sores] on the internet. I have read and taken onboard what you have written on the site. Although I found your comments to be straight forward and interesting I have to say that I am disappointed. You suggest that to learn the ropes I should join an affiliate program or pay a marketing company to promote my product. Neither of these options appeal to me. Firstly I am excited about promoting my own product and don't want to expend my resources, time and energy promoting someone else's product. Unfortunately I don't have the capital to pay a marketing company to set up and promote a website for me as I would need at least $50,000 to start. You correctly state that there is an information overload on the internet  on this subject. I have purchased countless e-books on the subject - all of them have led me into an unending paper chase.

I came to your site expecting to find a step by step guide on how to start my home business online. I came to this conclusion from the search results on Yahoo. I have copied and pasted the search results below.

  1. How To Start A Home Business Online
How To Start a Home Business Online - A step by step guide on the internet where you can find free tools and information on how to start your home business online. Health, weight loss and nutritional supplements, find all Body Extreme....

Instead I found a step by step guide on how to start in the Body Extreme business as an affiliate. You obviously know how to set up an online business with a web presence, I've noticed that you are selling your own product "SPACE" on the site. Or did you pay a company to set up this site for you?

If you did set up and promoted this site yourself, why can't you write a step by step guide on how you did it?

Frustrated.

A. Thank you for your question and constructive criticism. I must admit that at the outset I had intended to write a step by step instruction on how to set up your own business online. I guess that I found the project too daunting. I actually did gain all my knowledge over a period of three years of struggling with affiliate programs. To write down all that I have learnt would entail writing a book there are so many different facets to cover. Probably this is the reason why the information one can access on the internet is so confusing as each e-book covers one or only several of the necessary facets in detail. Your question and trying to figure out an answer for you has led me to an idea. I am going to write an e-book in a step by step format with direct links to all the resources that I have utilized myself.

On completion I will send you a free copy, should be complete in around two weeks. Again thank you for your question which has motivated me into action.

A. Wow "How To Start A Home Business Online" is exactly what I was looking for. Can't believe you put this together in two weeks.

So glad I gave you a nudge! Everything is so clearly explained, you are a gem! Thanks so much.

Very Happy.

Q. I have a beautifull taby cat I  have a difficult time to spray the Zodiac Flea Proof Spray because as soon as I start ,she runs and hide under the couch and she would'nt come out. Please advice what to do and any article about cats would be appreciated very much.

Douglas

A. This is not an unusual problem. The easiest way that I have found is to get a bath towel lay it out flat and lightly spray or powder [if you are using flea powder] it over an area large enough to accommodate your cat. This is best done in a different room to where your cat is, as just the noise of the spray will remind your cat of the nasty experience of a previous treatment. Once your towel is prepared go and pick up your cat, place your cat on the towel and quickly wrap it up in the towel so only the head is left free. Now give your cat a cuddle. All wrapped up in a towel your cat can't escape or scratch you and the medication will rub into your cats coat more effectively than dusting or spraying.

NOTE: Wrapping your cat in a bath towel is also the safest restraint when dosing your cat by mouth or injection.

Q.Do you have marketing that you are testing or happy with? Let us know your thoughts.

Paul. - USA

A. Hi Paul I found that building my own list then find people that built their list. Offer to post your message to their list. In return you post their message to your list. When you post your message to their list offer something in return if they will join your list. I started with 20 people in my list, now have 5000. Started slowly but grows real fast after a time. took me six months.

Q. I am having a problem with a label that I designed (salad in a bottle). I need advise on how to keep it professional and presentable at a low cost for a start.  Can we try and see if anybody can come up with maybe a better idea for a label, or if I can maybe use a online website to design the label myself in order to save money.

I also need a supplier that can supply me with the correct bottle.

Hope you can help.

ESTELLE - ZA

A. Estelle, my name is Sven Knieling please email me at: svenknieling@yahoo.com.au I can probably help you with your label.

As for the bottle it's probably better to source that in your own country.

IDEAS PREVIOUS EDITIONS

I work from home and it's a hassle for me to take time to go look up numbers in the phone book. Google Local gives me the opportunity to take just a few seconds to find what I'm looking for, call or email the business and get back to my work in a very short amount of time.

public discussion about decency

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question.

"When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot
learn things
as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. "I believe, that when a child like Shay comes into the world, an opportunity to realise true human nature
presents itself, and it comes, in the way other people treat that child."

Then he told the following story: Shay and his father had walked
past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball.

Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?"   Shay's father
knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of  belonging Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked if Shay could play.

The boy looked around for guidance and, getting none, he took
matters into his own hands and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning."

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs
but was still behind by three.  In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the outfield.  Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two
outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and  Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, let Shay bat and give away their chance to win
 the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was
all but impossible 'cause Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.  However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least be able to make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The
pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.  The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.  Instead, the pitcher took the ball and turned and threw the ball on a high arc to right field, far beyond the reach of the first baseman. Everyone started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!"  Never in his life had Shay ever made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.  Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!"

By the time Shay rounded first base, the right fielder had the
ball. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions and intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.  Shay ran toward second base  as the runners ahead of him deliriously circled the bases toward home. Shay reached second base, the opposing shortstop ran to him, turned him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third!"  As Shay rounded
third, the boys from both teams were screaming, "Shay, run home!"  Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the "grand slam" and won the game for his team.

"That day," said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true
love
 and humanity into this world."

AND, NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY: We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it
comes to sending messages about life choices, people think twice about sharing. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our
schools and workplaces.

Two stories about NOLB Team Members.

Dianne Jones

Three years ago my health became a problem with repeated surgeries and I was no longer able to work on my feet for 12 to 14 hours at a time. My mind and hands were still yearning to be gainfully employed and I happened upon some beads and low-end jewelry tools at a local craft store and I started playing with different jewelry designs as a hobby.

My roommate is disabled and also became interested in doing something artistic that would replace her hobby of painting. She started looking for genuine stones and finer materials since she is a major perfectionist and wanted to work with the best of the best. Together we learned all that we could learn about jewelry. She found books upon books about metallurgy, gemstones, the history of jewelry and jewelry making and we began our three year journey towards a business that I could turn into a way of life.

I love the idea that I can take stones that were formed over millions of years and make a beautiful work of wearable art that will last millions of years after I'm long gone. There is something soothing and elemental about working with and learning about the stones and metals that I work with every day. The cool heavy feel of the heavier stones and the soft sheen of the organic ornaments such as shells and pearls was a strong draw. I was hooked.

Since those first years of learning, I have since sold jewelry on eBay, at flea markets, home shows, and some other special venues. I'm now starting to move up to venues that will give me a broader market. My first trade show will be in February of 2006. It's a women's trade show at a convention center in Savannah. Georgia-my adopted home. Now I'm learning everything I can about the best displays to market my very unique one of a kind jewelry designs. Moving forward requires a good deal of capital investment; but at some point in a business/a vocation it's necessary to take a chance. A willingness to learn and work very hard are the foundations of success.

Through the end of this year's holiday season, I'm still mostly selling at a local flea market but I have also had a website developed to market my designs internationally. I really enjoy it when a customer finds that one set of jewelry that 'has their name all over it'. That is one thing that selling on my website that I do miss-the look of excitement that a customer has when they see that necklace and pair of earrings on themselves in the mirror. But I've learned to visualize well enough to imagine that excitement in my mind.

I 'm going to share with you the fun of selling at my local flea market. I can see all sorts of people from different walks of life and find that these weekend venues connect me with new and interesting individuals that I would otherwise have missed. I even meet their dogs! I get a sense of community with other vendors that I  also treasure. We have a great time together during the slower moments and share our joy when we have a really good  business day.

Come visit me at www.diannesbydesign.com and share my love of one of a kind designer jewelry. I'm sure that there's a piece or pieces of jewelry with 'your name all over it'!

Douglas McGuire Appeal by Kitty Brown

A couple of days ago I saw that Douglas McGuire was online in my Skype contact list. He had not been on line for several weeks and I had assumed that he was on holidays. Douglas informed me that he 'd spent the last few weeks in hospital. Imagine my shock when he told me bravely that he'd been given three months to live. Douglas has been in remission for five years with leukemia following a life saving procedure in the US. The same doctor in the US that performed this last procedure has offered to repeat this procedure for free. Douglas believes this is his only chance for survival. His family has rallied round him and are assisting him financially as much as they can with the huge hospital fees and associated expenses. When I asked Douglas when he was leaving for the US he told me "as soon as I can raise the funds for my return trip from Sydney."

He did not solicit me to make this appeal but would be very grateful if we could help.

I will send anyone who can verify a donation of $20 or more to Douglas McGuire a free copy of the slide show "SPACE".

To make your donation please contact Douglas McGuire direct at:
