Creating Tables and adding Background Colors To Website Pages.

Open your index file, place your curser at the top of the editing box and click. You should now have a flashing bar. Click on Insert and select and click on Table..

The following box will appear.

Table Format

Run your curser over the squares to select the first first colum and 3 rows, as shown in the image above.
Click OK.
Click anywhere on your page [not within the table border]. You should now see a table boarder on your page like this:


Right click anywhere inside the table border and select  "Table Select" then "Table" from the drop down menu. This will highlight your selection [the table].
Right click within the table again and select "Table Properties" from the drop down menu.

The following Table Properties box appears.

Change the settings to:

To change the background color click inside the color box, a color chart will appear, select the white square and click OK. Then click OK on the Table Property Box. Your table should now look like this:

 Note: You can delete rows by clicking on the x's and add rows above or below by clicking on the arrows.

Click on format in the top toolbar and select Page Colors and background from the drop down menu.
The following box should appear.

Select "Use custom colors" and  then colors you want by clicking in the boxes. A color chart will appear from which you can select the color and click OK. Then click OK on the "Page Colors and Background " box.

You should now have a page with the background color of your choice with a white table in the center.

Go and click on the "Save" icon now - it's the one that looks like a floppy disc in your toolbar at the top of the page.
Now click on the "Preview" tab at the bottom of the page or on the "Browse" icon in your toolbar to see what your page looks like in your browser. Then return to "Normal" view. You should also look at the changes made to the code by clicking on the "Source" tab at the bottom of the page.
