Website Tutorial - The Anatomy Of a Capture Page.
How to set up a capture
page and grow your list + Example of download page.
The idea of a capture page is to capture the name and email address of
the visitor to your site.
Many sites make this their main page and bribe the visitor for their
details before they get shown the content of the site. They also offer
a free e-book or some other gift to get them to sign up.
The idea is to build a list of the visitors and hopefully convert them
into customers via email solicitations.
This has become common practice amongst affiliate Internet marketers.
I prefer to use a capture page to service my visitors/customers who
have already seen my content and are interested in being updated via a
newsletter because they are interested in my content.
I feel if you have to bribe people to sign up to your list or
Newsletter they most likely won't stay on the list for long.
Let's take a look at what you have to set up for a capture page to work.
First you need an
autoresponder.
Then you need to create a capture page, inviting the visitor/customer
to sign up to the list via a form linked to the autoresponder.
Then you need to set up a thank you page, telling the visitor to look
out for the first message from the autoresponder and to check their
junk and or spam folders if they do not get the email delivered to
their inbox.

form embeded.
As soon as the
visitor
hits the subscribe button
2 things happen
|
|
1.The
visitor gets sent to the thank you page.
where he/she gets informed to check for an email that has already been
sent to them by the autoresponder
|
|
2.
The autoresponder sends the verification request to the visitors inbox. |
|
If the visitor clicks the verification link, the
autoresponder adds them to the list and the mysqal data base.
Then the autoresponder starts to send the message sequence
you
have placed in que to be sent at the intervals you determined. |

verifying their email address.
The download page will have the link that permits the subscriber to
download a digital product gift. |
|
You will also need to write and set up the email sequence in the
autoresponder.
In addition if you are going to offer a free gift to download you will
have to set up a download page that the autoresponder will link the
subscriber to once they have verified their email address in
the
first message.
You will also have to load the file of the gift to your hosts server,
ready to download.
